I’m running for a few reasons. I’m running because I think the Shore often gets overlooked in Annapolis. Our state has Democratic super-majorities in both houses and we only have one elected Democrat from the entire Eastern Shore. Moderate Shore Democrats who share your values can make positive change for all of us. I’m running so that we can finally have a seat at the table.
I’m running because I grew up dirt poor and I know what it feels like when a dollar more for gas changes every plan and budget you have. Those memories don’t leave you. I know what it’s like to want and I know what it’s like to be on the outside looking in. I want to fight for good people who could use a hand. Besides that, I feel I have been extremely fortunate – lucky, even. I few simple decisions made when we’re teenagers can determine the rest of our lives. I want to create an environment where good people can get second chances.
I’m running because I have a different set of experiences than most people. I spent a career building teams of Republicans, Democrats, independents, black, white, Latino, Asian, gay, straight, recent immigrants and people whose families have been here since before America was a country. People from different backgrounds who covered each other’s backs. The division in society makes me sick – and I’m here to help fix it.
Let’s Get to Work.
